The secret of a life worth living (according to Zootopia)

One week ago I watched the new Disney movie Zootopia.

At first, I didn’t want to watch it but my boyfriend insisted that I should. So I said “okaaaaaaaaaay!”

I didn’t really know what to expect. All I knew is that it was about animals and that’s it. I thought it would be too childlish but actually it inspired me in so many ways because I could relate to Judy’s story.

In this new blog post, I’d like to share with you some insights that I had while watching Zootopia.

But watch out!

There might be some spoilers here. If you prefer to watch the movie first (which I recommend!), you can come back later to read my post.

So, here we go…

The main character of the movie is a rabbit girl named Judy who, instead of doing like every other rabbits when she’ll grow up — selling carrots — she decided that she wanted to be a police officer.

Her parents tried to stop her because let’s face it: a rabbit who wants to be a police officer? No way! She’s so small and so cute! ahah ^^ No one would take her seriously. And it’s dangerous!

She had little to no support. She had only her faith.

But against all odds, she succeeded, thanks to her strengths as a rabbit. She may not be tall and strong like a bull, BUT! she’s smart, motivated, has excellent ears and she jumps! And she’s small so she can be discrete too.

What I’d like to highlight here is that…

You can become anything you want

As Walt Disney once said:

If you can dream it, you can achieve it.

If you can dream it, you can achieve it

No matter where and how you grew up, what’s the most important thing is how YOU choose to live your life.

You think that working is only a boring corporate job? If you do, yes it will. No doubt about it.

But what if working was such a pleasure that every morning you’re excited to start off your day?

Wouldn’t it be a relief?

Imagine your ideal life. Close your eyes for 5 min and visualize it

How do you feel?

Wouldn’t you like to feel like this everyday and for the rest of your life?

One year ago, I took the decision to quit my corporate job.

I had little to no support.

People would stop me from quitting because I had no plan except traveling to South America. I supposed that they were just worry about me which is very thoughtful from them.

If I weren’t brave enough to take a stand, I would’ve still be working at my corporate job and be complaining about it like everybody does.

I would’ve lived a life not true to myself just to please everyone else but me.

On the outside, I’d be smiling but on the inside I would’ve just be dying slowly and thinking:

What if I quitted my job? What would’ve happened?

Luckily for me, it didn’t happen that way.

I realized that a 9-to-5 job was not the perfect fit for me, so instead on dwelling on it, I decided to create my own dream job.

It’s daring and risky, but for the first time of my life I feel alive, and that’s a feeling you can’t buy.

So, whatever is your dream, go for it. And sing along with Shakira:

I won’t give up, no I won’t give in… 🙂
