How to make this year the most awesome ever (even if half of it just sucked)

June has finally arrived.

Do you know what it means?

It means that if the first half of the year has sucked for you, well… you have only 6 months to make this year the most awesome of your life. E-VER!

How do you feel about that?

Maybe you don’t care. If that’s your case, I’m wondering why you’re reading this article 🙂

Otherwise, keep reading!

But first, let’s put you in the right mood by listening to Travie McCoy feat. Bruno Mars – Billionaire

Why am I making you listen to this song?

Well, it’s simple.

Did you pay attention to what Bruno Mars was saying?

Let me refresh your mind here:

I wanna be a billionaire so fucking bad

Buy all of the things I never had

Uh, I wanna be on the cover of Forbes magazine

Smiling next to Oprah and the Queen

Oh every time I close my eyes

I see my name in shining lights, yeah

A different city every night, oh I

I swear the world better prepare

For when I’m a billionaire

Now let me ask you two simple questions…

What’s that dream of yours that you want so fucking bad? What do you see when you close your eyes?

Ponder these two questions in your head.

You don’t have to answer now.

Maybe you’ll need hours, days, weeks, or even months to figure it out.

Meanwhile, think about this:

Why do you think your first half of the year has sucked?

My guess is: because you have no dream.

Or maybe you do have a dream but you’re doing nothing to achieve it.

Don’t worry, you’re not alone.

It was my case last year.

I had one crazy dream: travel the world for one year.

I was thinking about doing it for my 30th birthday (in 2018) but I couldn’t see myself staying 3 more years at the same job. Did it mean that my dream was over?

No fucking way!

From my perspective, it was the best opportunity I could ever have to achieve it!

Imagine this: no boyfriend, no kids, no job (enough money of course but not that much) and plenty of time. I said BINGO. Let’s do this!

Do you think I was fearless?

Oh of course I wasn’t!

I was so scared. My first travel solo as a backpacker.

But you know what helped me to take the leap?

I asked myself what would be my biggest regret when I’ll be older.

Is it traveling solo and discovering the world?

Or is it staying in a job I don’t like anymore for the sake of money?

And that’s when it clicked!

I decided that no matter any bullshit excuses my mind would come up with, I, Shyrwyn, will travel!

I started my awesome journey as a solo backpacker this last December with 4 months in South America. So far, it’s been the most epic moment of my life.

And starting from this month I’ll travel 6 months in Asia. I’m so excited about it! ^^

By overcoming my fear of traveling solo, I realized that there are 4 bullshit excuses that could prevent you from achieving your dreams:

  • You don’t have time
  • You don’t have enough money
  • You have no one to support you
  • You’re afraid to fail

But you know what?

There will never be a perfect time to live your dream life

It’s now or never and you know it.

So, let me ask you once again this question:

What do you want so fucking bad in your life?

The first step you’ll take to reach your dream is always the most scariest one but then, trust me, you’ll see that you had nothing to worry about.

I’ve been there and I sincerely hope that you will too.
